In river crab and crayfish mixed-culture ponds, aquatic plants like vallisneria, elodea and whorled milfoil serve as important shelter, a natural supplemental food source, and play an ecological role in purifying water and boosting oxygen. But vegetation care isn't a plant-it-and-forget-it task — overgrowth, yellowing roots, and rot are the three most common issues.

Overgrowth typically happens during the peak growth period. Left unchecked, overly dense vegetation blocks light and competes for pond nutrients, ultimately interfering with shrimp and crab activity and feeding. At this point, a care product that controls root/stem/leaf growth and shortens internodes helps manage density by regulating growth rhythm rather than relying on simple physical cutting — preventing the mass floating and rot that follows unchecked overgrowth.
